Lane changes underway on Barnett Shoals Road

The Athens-Clarke County Transportation and Public Works Department says it has begun a “temporary lane reconfiguration” on Barnett Shoals Road between Forest Road and Whitehall Road. The temporary paint and vertical panels for traffic control will last an estimated 30 days, starting on Sept. 13. The Mayor and Commission approved the reconfiguration on Sept. 5.

Once completed, the Transportation and Public Works Department will submit an agenda item to the Mayor and Commission that will either make the change permanent or return the road to the condition it was in prior to resurfacing.
