First time ever: Jackson County School System budget tops $100 million

There is another orientation session for members of Athens’ new Public Safety Civilian Oversight Board: it is set for 5:30 this afternoon at Athens-Clarke County Police Department headquarters on Lexington Road in Athens.

The Jackson County School Board, meeting in Jefferson, approves a Jackson County School System budget that, for the first time ever, tops the $100 million mark.

Barrow County Commissioners convene a special session today in Winder. A public hearing on the latest Barrow County budget is set for 5 o’clock this afternoon at the courthouse in Winder.

The Elbert County School Board, meeting in Elberton, signs off on a $61.4 million Elbert County Schools budget. An Elbert County Commission budget hearing is set for noon today at the County Government Complex in Elberton.
