Local government notes include another voting machine display

Those new voting machines are on display again today in Athens, from 8 til noon at the Miriam Moore Community Center on McKinley Drive. Voters in Athens and around the state will use the new machines with their touch-screens and paper back-ups in the presidential preference primaries that will be held on March 24. Early voting starts on March 2. 

Athens-Clarke County Commissioners meet, 6 o'clock tonight at City Hall. It's their first agenda-setting session of the new year. Talk about work at Athens-Ben Epps Airport and the latest on the Firefly Trail project are on tonight's Commission agenda.

The Morton Theatre’s Board of Directors meets this evening in Athens: it’s a 6:30 session at the Morton on Washington Street.

Madison County’s Planning and Zoning Board meets, 6:30 in Danielsville.

Hall County state Rep Emory Dunahoo says he will run for another term in the Georgia House. The Gainesville Republican was first elected in 2010.
