Local government roundup includes Clarke Co BOE meeting with NAACP

Athens-Clarke County Commissioners hold a 5:30 work session: like all meetings since March, it will be held remotely and on-line, streaming on the Athens-Clarke County government’s YouTube Channel.

Today is the last day for fare-free rides on Athens Transit buses: the free rides have been a fixture since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic in Athens, but beginning Wednesday, riders will again have to pay to take a seat on an Athens Transit bus.

The Clarke County School Board meets with members of the Athens NAACP in a special called session that is underway at 6 o’clock this evening.

Oconee County’s Board of Assessors meets this morning: it’s a 9 o’clock session at the Oconee County courthouse in Watkinsville.

Barrow County Commissioners meet tonight, 7 o’clock at the Historic Courthouse in Winder: it will be the first in-person meeting since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.
