Local government roundup includes new elections boss in Hall Co

Lori Wurtz begins her new job today: the former Elections Supervisor in Jackson County has the Supervisor’s job in Hall County, just in time to oversee primary elections that are now 36 days away. Wurtz is the replacement for Charlotte Sosebee, who is now the Elections Supervisor in Athens-Clarke County.

There is an afternoon meeting of the Oconee County School Board, a 5 o'clock session at school district headquarters on School Street in Watkinsville. The Board is scheduled to vote on a plan to spend $1 million in Special Purposes Local Option Sales Tax money on new computers. 


Tonight's meeting of the Oconee County Planning Commission starts at 7 at the Oconee County courthouse in Watkinsville. 
Jackson County Commissioners convene a 6 o'clock session at the courthouse in Jefferson.


The Oglethorpe County Zoning Board meets tonight, 7 o'clock at the Oglethorpe County courthouse in Lexington. 

The Gainesville City Council is holding budget hearings, looking at plans for pay raises for Gainesville police and firefighters.
