Local notes include May session finals at UGA

University of Georgia students who took Maymester classes begin taking their May session final exams today at UGA.

There is an afternoon meeting of the Athens Downtown Development Authority, a 2 o’clock session in Authority offices in downtown Athens.

Investigators in Gainesville say the June 1 fire that burned at a marina in Hall County was accidental in origin: the blaze destroyed four boats and two personal watercraft and caused an estimated $2 million in damage.

Hall County Commissioners meet this evening in Gainesville: they are expected to give final approval to a budget that will feature a slight rollback in Hall County’s millage rate.
