Meeting to focus on health insurance impasse

A meeting now scheduled for Monday will be closely watched at the University of Georgia, where thousands of faculty and staff are in health insurance coverage limbo: Governor Nathan Deal will meet with the CEOs of Piedmont Health Care and Blue Cross Blue Shield. Those UGA staffers are, like hundreds of thousands of other state employees, now out of network with Piedmont doctors and facilities because of a contract dispute between Piedmont and Blue Cross. The Governor’s office says the meeting is designed to give Deal an update on negotiations.
