The Georgia Department of Public Health says the two-week total of coronavirus cases in Athens was 274 in the report released Tuesday, down from 343 the day before and well below the high of more than 14 hundred seen this past summer. 45 percent of Athens-Clarke County residents are now considered fully vaccinated against COVID 19.

Today is School and College Day at UGA, with students convening virtually and at the Tate Center to learn about the schools and colleges at the University of Georgia. Activities are underway at 10 o’clock this morning.

There is music this evening in Athens: the University of Georgia’s Symphonic Band is in concert at Hodgson Hall. The season opening performance starts at 7:30.
