Elbert County Commissioners, meeting this week in Elberton, voted to impose an 11pm til 6am curfew on the Georgia Guidestones, with fines of up to one thousand dollars for violators. The Elbert County Sheriff’s Office asked for the curfew in an effort to reduce vandalism at the tourist destination off Highway 77.

There is a new principal for Elbert County Comprehensive High School: Josh Rider comes to Elberton from Homer, where he has spent the past three years as an assistant principal at Banks County High School.

Northeast Georgia Medical Center says it is facing a critical shortage of blood donations. The hospital in Gainesville says it is especially low on blood type O.
