NE Ga police reports include theft, prostitution arrests

There are theft and drug charges for a man arrested in Elbert County: 57 year-old Derek Burden was booked into the Elbert County jail, caught with what the Sheriff’s Office in Elberton says was methamphetamine after allegedly breaking into a house.

A Barrow County man is arrested on theft charges in Hall County, accused of shoplifting at an antique store in Lula: suspect Gary Cox is 49 years old, from Winder.

Two dogs found dead in metal crates in a house in Hart County lead to animal cruelty charges for a husband and wife: Steve and Angie Whitfield were arrested at their home in Hartwell.

Three women from Gwinnett County—two from Suwanee and one from Duluth—are arrested and booked into the Hall County jail. The women are accused of using Gainesville massage parlors as houses of prostitution.

Gainesville Police have arrested a man they say targeted older shoppers in grocery store parking lots in Hall County: 43 year-old David Humphries Jr is accused of robbing the victims, a 61 year-old man and a 72 year-old woman. Humphries ia facing charges that include robbery, exploitation of the elderly, and purse snatching.
