NE Ga shooting, drowning victims identified

We have this morning the name of the man who was killed in a shooting in Elberton: the Elbert County Sheriff’s Office says John Gaines died after being taken to Elbert Memorial Hospital. The GBI is in on the ongoing investigation.

The coroner in Rabun County has released the name of the man who drowned in Lake Burton: Keith Hill was 57 years old, from Virginia. He died this past Sunday. Witnesses say he dove into the lake and did not resurface. Dive teams recovered his body. The state Department of Natural Resources says his death has been ruled an accidental drowning.
