Oconee County Commissioner Mark Saxon begins his term as Fifth District Representative on the Board of Managers for the Georgia County Association. Saxon has been an Oconee County Commissioner since winning his first election in 2012.

From the ACCG…

Ocoee County Commissioner Mark Saxon was recently sworn in to serve as Fifth District Representative on the 2021-2022 Association County Commissioners of Georgia (ACCG or Georgia’s County Association) Board of Managers.

“The Board of Managers, newly installed, represents the resiliency and competency of county officials throughout Georgia,” stated Executive Director Dave Wills. “Those who have already been in service on the Board, and those who are joining for their first year of service, will continue to help Georgia and its counties navigate turbulent political and economic waters created by the pandemic and other factors. I am looking forward to working with the Board of Managers as we begin the return to economic and operational normalcy as ACCG continues its mission of advancing the interests of Georgia’s counties and the people they serve.”

As ACCG Fifth District Representative, Saxon will work alongside other board members to lead the association and guide policies during the next year. Saxon was first elected to serve as the Oconee County Commissioner in 2012. Saxon is driven by his passion for leadership and service. Since being elected, he has taken on several leadership roles not only within ACCG as a member of the Lifelong Learning Committee, but also within his community.
