Oconee Co outpaces Athens on first day of early voting

The early voting that began Monday continues today in Athens and around the state, in Athens at the Elections Office on Washington Street and in Oconee County at the Board of Elections headquarters on Court Street. There were early technical issues reported with the voting machines in Athens, on a day that saw 549 people cast early ballots. Oconee County had 713 voters on the first day of early voting.

The voting in advance of the November 6 elections wraps up on Friday November 2. We are today three weeks away from Election Day.
