Re-Pete? Gibbons seeks return to mayor’s office

Pete Gibbons says he is running for Mayor of Bowman: Gibbons, who left the mayor's office to wage an unsuccessful run for state Senate three years ago, is a candidate in a special election set for March 19. He is running to fill the unexpired term of former Bowman Mayor Mark Berryman, who stepped down at the end of last year. Candidate qualifying starts later this month. 

Gibbons said on his Facebook page: "After some careful consideration and then talking it over with my family, I figured now was about the right time to get back into it. I still have a real passion for helping our community, and I've been missing it and wanted to get back into it. I think now is just about the right time to just go ahead and do what I can to help improve our community. I feel strongly that we all have a duty to give back to our community, and I think this is my avenue to do so."
