Piedmont Healthcare is adding four hospitals to its portfolio. It’s acquiring Eastside Medical Center in Snellville, the Cartersville Medical Center and Coliseum Medical Centers and Coliseum Northside, both located in Macon. The seller is Tennessee-based HCA, which still operates hospitals in Augusta, Savannah, Waycross, Dublin and Vidalia. Its expected to sell Redmond Regional Medical in Rome to a Florida company. Once the one billion dollar deal closes at the end of July, Piedmont will have 15 hospitals. Emory and Wellstar each have eleven.
