GSP probes vehicle vs pedestrian accident in Franklin Co

An Athens man is arrested in Elberton: the Elbert County Sheriff’s Office says 42 year-old Dalijit Kavr faces felony charges stemming from allegations of deposit account fraud.

Warrants served at homes in Royston and Hull lead to the arrests of two suspected methamphetamine traffickers: 57 year-old Ted Williams is from Royston; 35 year-old Joseph Obar is from Hartwell. Drug agents say meth with an estimated street value of more than $7 million was found in the two homes. The arrests cap a two-month investigation.

A man and woman from South Carolina are behind bars in Banks County: the Banks County Sheriff’s Office says Dykem Laney from Spartanburg and Kendaysha Fuller of Chesney South Carolina were arrested after a high speed police pursuit that began after a reported shoplifting in Commerce. They were arrested on I-85 in Franklin County.

The Georgia State Patrol says the driver of a car that hit a pedestrian on Highway 17 in Franklin County will not face charges. The pedestrian, who was walking on the Highway in Lavonia, was taken to a hospital in Greenville South Carolina with what were described as non life-threatening injuries.
