Police blotter includes DUI charge for A-CC Commissioner

There is a DUI charge for Athens-Clarke County Commissioner Patrick Davenport, who was arrested over the weekend by Athens-Clarke County Police after a traffic stop on College Station Road. Davenport, who represents District 1 on Athens-Clarke County Commission, was booked into the Athens-Clarke County jail and later released on bond.

An Athens woman convicted of shooting and killing a pregnant mother in 2019 has been sentenced. 29 year-old Kiresa Cooper will serve two consecutive life terms in prison. Cooper was convicted of malice murder and feticide in the shooting death of 24 year-old Auriel Callaway. The deadly shooting happened during a fight at the Clarke Garden Apartments on Carriage Court in Athens.

A man is arrested and charged in a deadly stabbing in Hall County: police in Oakwood say 31 year-old Emmanuel Harris is accused of killing his girlfriend, 27 year-old Jordan Gooch.
