Police briefs include escaped inmate, fatal crash, counterfeiting arrest

The Stephens County Sheriff’s Office was, at last report, still trying to track down an escaped inmate: 24 year-old Calvin McCoy (pictured above) jumped a fence and ran away from the jail in Toccoa.

A Maysville man is killed in a crash in Banks County: Steven Baxter was 66 years old. The single-vehicle accident happened south of Homer. The Georgia State Patrol is investigating.

A Hall County woman is arrested, accused of trying to use counterfeit cash to buy money orders at a store in Flowery Branch: Jennifer Raby is 33 years old, from Lula.
