Police search for shooter, car thief

Athens-Clarke County Police were, at last report, trying to track down a shooting suspect: Police say someone fired multiple rounds into an apartment on Sir Matthew Road in northeast Athens. There were no injuries reported. The local Crime Stoppers group is offering a $1,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest and conviction in the case.

Athens-Clarke County Police are still trying to find the person who stole a car that was taken from a home on Windy Hill Place this past weekend. At the time of the theft, an 11-month-old girl was in the car. The car and the baby were found a few minutes after the 2001 Ford Taurus was stolen, found unharmed in the parking lot of a shopping center on Epps Bridge Road in Oconee County. Police say the baby was not injured.
