Police: shooting might have been retaliation for robbery

Athens-Clarke County Police continue their investigation into a deadly shooting that happened last week on Trail Creek Street. The now say the suspected triggerman might have been the victim of an armed robbery perpetrated by the man who was shot and killed.

ACCPD detectives believe that Curry Cole Calloway was the offender of an Armed Robbery at 393 First Street where he robbed ****** ***** (20) of Athens. After the robbery, Calloway was shot and killed nearby on Trail Creek Street. ***** is being investigated for his role in Calloway’s homicide. Detectives continue to review evidence and witness statements, as well as consult with the Athens-Clarke County District Attorney’s office, to determine the appropriate course of action in this case.
