Rail crossing replacement to slow traffic in Watkinsville

The Georgia DOT says work on a railroad intersection in Oconee County will make for a road closure in Watkinsville: State Route 15 closes tomorrow and Thursday at McRee Street in Watkinsville, where crews will work to replace the rail crossing. The DOT says the work is scheduled for 8 in the morning through 5 in the afternoon both days.

GDOT crews will implement a road closure on State Route 15 in Watkinsville to allow the replacement of the railroad crossing near McRee Street.

The closure will begin on July 10 at 8 a.m. and continue through July 11 at 5 p.m. Traffic will be detoured around the crossing during this time.
