Rain keeps falling, impacts UGA sporting events

Forecasters with the National Weather Service say there is no end in sight for the rain that continues to fall on Athens and northeast Georgia: there are already flood watches and warnings in some counties in northwest Georgia, with several more inches of rain expected over the next several days for most of the northern portion of the state.

The rain that fell Tuesday led to the postponement of a University of Georgia baseball game that has been tentatively rescheduled for 5 o'clock this afternoon: the Diamond Dogs will make their first road trip of the new season when they play at Kennesaw State University. The forecast for rain has led to the postponement of a Georgia Bulldog softball game that was to have been played today at Georgia State University in Atlanta.
