The recent rain doesn't mean the end of Georgia's drought. The latest drought recap from the National Weather Service spells good news for Northwest Georgia, a region that is no longer experiencing a drought.
But the news is not so good for other parts of the state. A big section of northeast Georgia is still under a severe drought. And certain counties in metro Atlanta are still in an extreme drought, including DeKalb, Gwinnett and sections of Forsyth, Hall, and Walton counties.
