Recount ordered in HD 28 special election

There will be a recount this afternoon in a razor-thin House race in northeast Georgia: state Rep Dan Gasaway, a Republican from Homer, asked for the recount after apparently losing a December 4 election by just two votes. Former Banks County School Superintendent Chris Erwin has declared victory in the special election, which was ordered by a judge after ballots were improperly handled in the May 22 Republican primary.

One of them—Erwin or Gasaway—will represent at 28th House District that covers parts of Banks, Stephens, and Habersham counties.
