Road work in Banks Co, sewer upgrades in Lavonia

The Georgia Department of Transportation says work begins today on a 9.8 mile resurfacing project on Highway 441 in Banks County: it’s a $6.3 million project expected to be completed by July. The DOT says there will be lane closures associated with the work that begins on 441 at English Road in Banks County and continues north to the Habersham County line.

The city of Lavonia is looking at upgrades to what consultants say is an aging sewer system: engineers tell the Lavonia City Council the price tag will be around $4.6 million.
