Royston man murdered, body found in SC

The Sheriff's Office in Anderson County South Carolina says a body found floating in a pond there has been identified as that of a teenager from Franklin County: Mericus Scott was 18 years old, from Royston. Investigators in Anderson say Scott was shot. There was no immediate word on suspects or motive. Scott's funeral is scheduled for Sunday. 

The Georgia State Patrol is investigating a deadly vehicle vs pedestrian accident in Hall County. Stacey Cash was 21 years old, from Lula. State Troopers say Cash was hit by a car driven by a 68 year-old woman who is also from Lula. They say the driver was not injured and will not face charges in the accident. 

A 33 year-old man from Tennessee is facing child sex charges in Hall County: the Hall County Sheriff's Office says allegations against James Davidson stem from cell phone conversations with an underaged girl.

The GBI is investigating the tenth officer-involved shooting of the year in Georgia: Atlanta Police say a Georgia State Trooper shot a man in Edgewood. The State Patrolman says the man who was shot tried to run over the Trooper with his car. The man died when his car crashed.
