Sex offender sentenced in Athens, assault suspect arrested in Gainesville

A convicted sex offender gets a life sentence in Clarke County Superior Court: Charlie Jordan was arrested by Athens-Clarke County Police in September of last year.

We have this morning the name of the third person to die in a motorcycle crash in the past week: Eduard Onufriychuk was 25 years old, from Maysville. He was killed when his motorcycle collided with a tractor-trailer rig on I-85 in Buford. Two other men—one from Toccoa and another from Winder—also lost their lives in northeast Georgia motorcycle wrecks. 

The Hart County Sheriff's Office reports the arrest of a Royston man accused of attacking a car with a sledge hammer: deputies say Rodney Dowell was involved in a domestic dispute when he damaged a woman's car. 

A 30 year-old Gainesville man is in the Hall County jail, accused of assaulting a woman and threatening to burn her house: Jeremy Evans (pictured above) is being held on assault charges. 

The Sheriff's Office in Dawson County reports the arrest of five drug suspects: drug agents in Dawsonville say they confiscated marijuana, methamphetamine, and LSD. 

US Marshals make the arrest in Newton County: a 27 year-old Shady Dale man is behind bars, charged with assaulting an ex-girlfriend. The Newton County Sheriff’s Office says domestic abuse allegations against Brandon Casper date back to last November.
