Suspects arrested after reported child abduction in Banks Co

A man and woman described as non-custodial parents are arrested after their young son is abducted in Banks County: the 9 year-old boy was found safe in Jones County. The Sheriff’s Office in Homer says David and Sabrina Salas are in custody.

The Hart County Sheriff’s Office spent Thursday searching for a man from Illinois: he went missing while fishing in Lake Hartwell.

Police in Gainesville say the man who shot himself after a traffic stop in Gainesville has died: it happened earlier this week as police approached the car they pulled over near Lakeshore Mall in Gainesville. Charles Allison was 54 years old, from Gainesville. The GBI is investigating.

Police in Gainesville were, at last report, trying to track down an armed robbery suspect, a man who held up a Hall County convenience store and drove away in a stolen car. Cash was stolen from the store; no injuries were reported.

A Dawson County man is flown to a hospital after a housefire. While Dawson County firefighters are searching for the cause of the blaze, they say there is no indication of foul play.
