Suspects arrested on animal abuse, child molestation allegations

A man accused in the deaths of 16 dogs is behind bars in Florida. The Oglethorpe County Sheriff’s Office says David Ortiz was arrested near Tampa. He was indicted in December for aggravated animal cruelty after the dogs were found dead at a home outside Crawford.

We have this morning the names of the two people killed in a crash involving a school bus in Jackson County: Raymundo Tatgenhorst and Shianna Hibbitt were killed in the wreck that happened near Nicholson; one child on the bus was injured and taken to a hospital in Atlanta. The wreck happened on Highway 441. The Georgia State Patrol is investigating.

There are indictments for a Braselton woman: 52 year-old Monique Pinckney faces an attempted murder charge. Pinckney was arrested earlier this month: the Jackson County Sheriff's Office says she tried to kill her boyfriend. He's hospitalized at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, at last report in critical condition. 

A Hall County man is in the Franklin County jail, facing a long list of financial fraud charges: Gregory Myers is 31 years old, from Gainesville. He's accused of forging at least three paychecks. He's facing more allegations in Elbert County. 

The man who precipitated a SWAT standoff in Hall County is now in the Hall County jail. 20 year-old Andrew Mize allegedly strangled a woman and held her against her will in a home in west Hall. He's facing charges that include aggravated assault and false imprisonment. 

A man from Forsyth County is in the Hall County jail, facing charges that include child molestation: 40 year-old Jacob Young (pictured above) is accused of molesting a 12 year-old boy. Investigators say it happened at a home in Hall County.
