Teen injured in Oconee Co, robbery suspects sought in Elberton, Braselton

Investigators in the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office are looking for people who might have seen an incident that ended with serious injuries to a teenager. The Sheriff’s Office says it happened earlier this week on Whippoorwill Road west of Watkinsville.

From the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page…

The Oconee County Sheriff's Office is seeking witnesses or information related to an incident resulting injuries to a 19-year-old male.

The incident occurred somewhere around midnight on 7/17/19 near the intersection of Whippoorwill Road and Cumberland Road.

There is what appears to be un-tinted vehicle window glass at the scene. If you know of someone who is suddenly missing a car window, we need to know.

If you own or work at a repair shop and a vehicle comes in with a missing window, please let us know.

Folks, we don't know if this was an accident or an intentional act. What we do know is that we have a 19-year-old with very serious injuries, and we need to find out what happened to him. We have not been able to speak with him due to his injuries.

The Elberton Police Department and the Elbert County Sheriff's Office are searching for suspects in what is reported as a rash of residential robberies, at least twenty burglaries and break-ins that have happened in several parts of the county over the past ten days.

Police in Braselton were, at last report, still trying to track down a suspect in the armed robbery of a motel in Braselton. Motel surveillance video shows a black male armed with what police say was a handgun.
