TSPLOST vote set for Elbert Co

The Elbert County Commission, in a unanimous vote, calls for a referendum to be held next March, with Elbert County voters approving or rejecting an additional 1-cent special purpose local option sales tax for transportation.

Commissioenrs say that if the proposal passes, the TSPOST would generate a total of nearly $1.9 million per year, with about $1.2 million used for improvements and maintenance of county roads and the remainder going to the cities of Elberton and Bowman.
