Tuesday runoff results: Fisher, Hammock, Collins are big winners

Tuesday runoff results are in: Dexter Fisher is an Athens-Clarke County Commissioner-elect with an easy win over Matt Pulver. Fisher will represent District 5 on the Athens-Clarke County Commission.

Ryan Hammock beats Julie Mauck for the Post 3 seat on the Oconee County School Board, and the 10th District congressional field is set: Republican Mike Collins, an easy winner over Vernon Jones, will face Tabitha Johnson-Green in November. Johnson-Green beat Athens realtor Jessica Fore in the Democratic congressional runoff.

Tuesday’s voter turnout, and turnout from last week’s week of early voting, was light, in Athens and around the state.

General election day is November 8, 139 days from today.
