UGA student is new Miss Georgia

Miss University of Georgia Karson Pennington has earned the title of Miss Georgia 2021. Pennington is a UGA student from Augusta.

Miss University of Georgia Karson Pennington has earned the title of Miss Georgia 2021. The crown comes with a $15,000 scholarship.

Pennington also won the On-Stage Question and Social Impact Initiative Pitch earning her an additional $300 scholarship as well as other awards.

Her social impact initiative is “ROAR: Reach Out and Read.” The program focuses on reaching families through medical offices of pediatric doctors to teach parents to read aloud to children in hopes of improving literacy throughout the state.

Pennington will next compete for the title of Miss America.
