Wednesday weather: heat, storms, and a hint of relief

After a night of storms, get ready for another hot day.

Tuesday reached 100 degrees and was the hottest day in 3 years.

Severe Weather Team 2 Meteorologist Brian Monahan says Wednesday will not be as hot as Monday and Tuesday were.

"After today, rain chances drop back pretty low as we head into the end of the week and weekend... and it will stay hot.

But I don't see a return of 100 degree temperatures in our future!"

From the Georgia News Network…

The high in Atlanta reached 100 degrees Tuesday, but some relief is on the way as a weak, slow-moving front dips into North Georgia on Wednesday. Northwest Georgia temperatures will drop to about 90, mid 80s in the northeast Georgia mountains. Jason Deese of the National Weather Service says temperatures will cool down by several degrees as the slightly cooler, drier air works in and will be in place for the remainder of the week. Central and South Georgia start to feel some beneficial impacts from the front Thursday, with highs coming down several degrees
