Weekend adoption event at Oconee Co Animal Shelter

Saturday is animal adoption day at the Oconee County Animal Shelter, with discounted adoption fees on dogs and cats starting at 10 tomorrow morning at the facility on Branch Road in Bishop.

From the Oconee Co government website…

Oconee County Animal Services and Friends of the Oconee County Animal Shelter will host an inaugural Fall Adoption Festival event on Saturday, October 23, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The event will feature discounted adoption fees and activities for the whole family, including a kid zone, bounce house, and face painting, as well as tasty treats.

Adoption fees during this event are:

·      Adult Cat Adoptions - $25

·      Kitten Adoptions - $50

·      Dog Adoptions - $50

“This event will support the adoptions of animals in our care each year,” said Oconee County Animal Services Manager Crystal Berisko. “Opening your home to a shelter pet opens up shelter space to help even more animals in need. You can also learn about volunteering, fostering, and supporting our mission, and it’s the perfect time to visit our newly renovated facility that we are so proud of!”

Oconee County Animal Services will also accept donations to help support the care of animals in the foster program during this event. Needed supplies include cat litter, kitten food, and puppy food.

Oconee County Animal Services is located at 1171 Branch Road in Bishop. Visit www.oconeecounty.com/animalservices for more information.
