Woman arrested, man set for murder trial

A 27 year-old Athens woman is arrested after a reported case of road rage, one that ended when she allegedly assaulted a Georgia State Trooper. The road rage is said to have happened on Olympic Drive, where Alisha Mitchell says she was cut off by another car. She’s accused of brandishing a knife at the driver of that car and then trying to hit a responding State Trooper with her car. Mitchell was booked into and has bonded out of the Clarke County jail.

A judge says Gregory Roberts (pictured above) is competent to stand trial on a murder charge: the ruling comes from a judge in Elbert County Superior Court; the 49 year-old Bowman man is charged in the 2017 murder of 30 year-old Ashley Williams. She was shot and killed; he was arrested a short time later and is now in the Elbert County jail.
