Thursday was a groundbreaking day in Oconee County, with shovel hitting dirt at the intersection of Highways 15 and 441: the County is building a new government administration center to house government services that have been operating out of the courthouse in Watkinsville.
It will be a 44 thousand square-foot facility.
Construction is expected to be completed by the middle of next year. It comes with a price tag of almost $15 million.
