School officials in Watkinsville say students in the Oconee County School District have scored their highest ever ACT average, checking in 24.4 for the 2021 testing period, the top score in northeast Georgia and in the top 20 statewide.

Oconee County Schools has earned an average ACT composite score of 24.4 for the 2021 testing period, well above state and national averages and the highest-ever overall score achieved by the system. OCS achieved the highest ACT score in Northeast Georgia and is the only system in the region ranked in the state’s top 20.
“Our nationally-competitive ACT scores are a reflection of the hard work of our recent graduates, current students, their parents, and their K-12 teachers,” said Superintendent Jason L. Branch. “Congratulations to our students for demonstrating sustained excellence – which highlights both K-12 achievement and preparedness to succeed in post-secondary experiences.”
The ACT college readiness assessment is a standardized test for high school achievement and college admissions in the United States produced by ACT. Students are assessed in the areas of English, mathematics, reading, and science.
