Oconee Co: watch the watering

There is a seasonal reminder from the Oconee County Water Resources Department: non-drought water conservation measures are in place, meaning odd-numbered addresses can do outdoor watering on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays, while even-numbered addresses can do lawn irrigating on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays.

From the Oconee Co government website...

As the County heads into summer and temperatures rise, Oconee County Water Resources reminds residents to adhere to the following non-drought conservation watering schedule that is in effect for Oconee County per Georgia Department of Natural Resources regulations:

  • Odd-numbered addresses - Outdoor water use is allowed on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays
  • Even-numbered addresses - Outdoor water use is allowed on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays
  • Drip irrigation and hand watering are allowed on any day and at any time

Being mindful about water use benefits the entire community by conserving this important resource and benefits individual residents by lowering their water bill!
