Your rescue pet could be the next Cadbury ‘bunny’ – and win $5,000

The Cadbury Bunny tryouts are back, with a spotlight on rescue pets.

For the first time since the contest began five years ago, rescue pet parents across the U.S. can enter their animals for the chance to star in the ‘Cadbury Clucking Bunny’ commercial airing in March.

FOX 11 Los Angeles reports that the confectionery company is accepting entries until Feb. 23.

“The pet doesn’t even have to be furry — it can be scaly or feathered, too,” FOX 11′s digital team writes.

The winning pet will reportedly also take home a “$5,000 cash prize and another $5,000 for the animal shelter of choice,” FOX 11 adds.

Go to CadburyTryouts.com to enter, upload a photo of your rescue pet wearing Cadbury bunny ears, and complete the entry form.

On March 6, the 10 finalists will be announced and then “people can vote on their favorite until March 14,” FOX 11 explains.

“Rescue pets bring so many smiles to people every day,” Cadbury’s senior associate brand manager, Cam Bogie, said in a statement. Read more here.

Annie Rose, a therapy dog from Ohio, was last year’s Cadbury Bunny.

Annie Rose is an English Doodle therapy dog that visits nursing homes in the state, Cox Media Group’s Natalie Dreier writes. “She had a big job the past couple of years.

“While the COVID-19 pandemic kept visitors at a minimum at nursing homes, Annie Rose still did her rounds visiting residents’ windows.”

The Cadbury brand team reportedly helped pare the panel of finalists down from 10 pets to Annie Rose, who beat out Cheeto Puff, a lizard; Maple, a hedgehog; Skeeter the bird; and Will O’Wisp, a cat.
