Weather Service extends wind advisory for NE Ga mountain counties

There is a high wind advisory for the northeast Georgia mountains, in effect through 6 o’clock this evening. Rain is the forecast for much of the rest of the region.

...WIND ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM EDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Southeast winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.

* WHERE...Much of far north Georgia, especially at elevations

above 2000 feet.

* WHEN...Until 6 PM EDT this evening.

* IMPACTS...Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects.

Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may

result.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high

profile vehicle. Secure outdoor objects.
