Homicide investigation in Walton Co

A suspect is in custody after deadly shooting Sunday in Social Circle: the Walton County Sheriff’s Office says a woman is dead and a man wounded in the shooting that came during some sort of dispute. They say the victims apparently knew the shooter.

Social Circle police Chief Tyrone Oliver says 22 year-old  Desmond Jackson is in custody, charged with murder and aggravated assault.

Heather Smith, 24 years old of Covington died at the scene. Quantavious Banks, 26, of Social Circle, sustained injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.
