Two teens charged in connection with murder of another teen in metro Atlanta

GWINNETT COUNTY, GA — Two 18-year-olds are under arrest following the shooting death of 19-year-old Taveus Threat Jr. in Snellville.

Gwinnett County police say officers first discovered Threat’s body after responding to a 911 call about a car crash.

“When officers arrived they located the male deceased from an apparent gunshot wound, so that obviously started an apparent homicide investigation,” Gwinnett Police Corporal Ryan Winderweedle said.

Police say Flock security cameras helped lead investigators to the suspects.

“At some point we were able to show that both of them were there and were interacting with the victim in this case in some manner and ended up shooting him and killing him,” Winderweedle said.

Michael Coker of Loganville and Glenn Fitzpatrick of Winder are both charged with murder and are being held without bond.

Investigators say they are still working to determine a motive.
