Dogs rescued from inhumane conditions in Stephens Co

Animals are now in a shelter in Atlanta

Urine-stained and living in outdoor sheds and a trailer: the Atlanta Humane Society says those were the conditions for 29 dogs that have now been rescued from a single property in Toccoa.

The Humane Society’s Animal Protection Unit on Thursday went to pick up the dogs from the Toccoa Stephens County Humane Shelter, following their removal from the property Wednesday.

The dogs are large breed mixes with a range of age – most adult.

The animals are being cared-for at the Society’s West Midtown Atlanta location.

The Atlanta Humane Society says the dogs have “various medical needs, including mange and neurological needs.”
