Winder City Councilwoman resigns, Elbert Co Commissioners OK budget

Members of the local legislative delegation revisit the most recent legislative session and preview the 2022 General Assembly today at the Classic Center: Athens’ House and Senate members will speak to a joint meeting of the Athens Rotary Clubs in a noon-hour forum organized by the Athens Area Chamber of Commerce.

Elbert County Commissioners have given unanimous approval to a $13.5 million Elbert County budget, highlighted by two percent pay raises for the County’s public safety workers.

Hart County Commissioners met last night in Hartwell, taking up an ordinance that would impose a moratorium on the construction of chicken rendering plants of the sort proposed and rejected in Franklin County and now under consideration in Elbert County.
