Georgia Department of Labor Commissioner Mark Butler says that the Athens Career Center is going to be closed temporarily until further notice due to a “facility issue.” Commissioner Butler says that customers can use any other Georgia Department of Labor Career Center for employment-related services and assistance with unemployment benefits. The locations closest to Athens are:

  • Monroe Satellite: 212 Bryant Road Building 200 Athens Tech Campus Monroe, GA 30655
  • Gainesville Career Center: 2756 Atlanta Highway Gainesville, GA 30504
  • Covington Career Center 7249 Industrial Boulevard NE Covington, GA 30014

In addition, customers may apply for jobs and file claims for benefits online at www.dol.georgia.gov.
