Senate Majority Leader Bill Cowsert (R – Athens) was recognized as one of Georgia’s most influential people by Georgia Trend magazine. The magazine’s annual list recognizes the 100 Most Influential Georgians.
“I’m honored to be considered among the most influential citizens of the state,” said Sen. Cowsert. “This list is full of distinguished leaders, many of whom work with me on a daily basis to make Georgia the best place to live and work. I look forward to this legislative session and ensuring that we pass legislation to keep our state and citizens moving in the right direction by focusing on education, job creation and growth and maintaining Georgia’s status as the number one state for business.”
Georgia Trend recognized Sen. Cowsert for his leadership role as the Majority Leader in the Georgia Senate as well as his distinguished record as Vice Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee. In addition to these roles, he serves as a member on several other influential committees including Administrative Affairs, Appropriations, Assignments, Health and Human Services and Regulated Industries and Utilities.
Georgia Trend releases their 100 Most Influential Georgians list annually. The list includes individuals who make a positive impact on the lives of Georgians and make decisions that affect the wellbeing of the state. Naming the top 100 is a year-round process and the final list includes those who “have exhibited the character necessary to inspire, challenge, lead – and influence us.”
