Remains recovered near Flat Creek

The body of a missing swimmer is found in Lake Lanier: Anthony Saintil was 23 years old, from Henry County. Saintil was last seen jumping off a pontoon near Flat Creek; the Hall County Sheriff’s Office dive team found his body in a 44 feet of water.

Game Wardens say they were called out to the lake, near Flat Creek, just outside of Gainesville a little after noon on Saturday.

As the weather warms up and more people are out and on the lakes, DNR and others who patrol the lake to wear life vests while on boats and stay constantly aware of your surroundings.

A man’s body was recovered a little before 1 p.m Sunday via sonar scan at the mouth of Balus Creek on the lake in 40-plus feet of water. The victim has been identified as 23-year old Anthony Saintil, Jr. of Stockbridge.
