Collins among US Reps asking for answers from Postal Service

Mike Collins, the 10th District Republican who represents Athens in the US House, is among the dozen members of Congress asking for accounting of problems in the US Postal Service, problems that include lost and stolen mail and post offices that are closing.

The lawmakers are asking for an accounting of problems that include stolen mail, post office closures, and prolonged service suspension.

The AJC reports in a letter to U-S Postmaster General Louis DeJoy, Republican Representative Mike Collins says he’s heard about the troubling issues from many of his constituents, a sentiment echoed by a dozen other members of the bipartisan group from Georgia.

They’re asking for a response from the postal service by January 8.
