Diamond Dogs sell out season tickets

The Georgia Bulldog baseball team, gearing up for a Valentine's Day season opener at Foley Field, says it has sold out this year's allotment of season tickets: single-game tickets to Diamond Dog baseball games go on sale next week.

From Christopher Lakos, UGA Sports Communications…

With a consensus top 10 preseason national ranking, excitement around the University of Georgia baseball program continues to build with the announcement that 2020 season tickets are now sold out.

Single game tickets will go on sale Jan. 21 at 9 a.m. Fans can call (706) 542-1231 to purchase tickets or go online at www.georgiadogs.com/tickets. Single game reserved seats are $8, general admission tickets including group tickets (10+ tickets) are $5 each.

The Bulldogs are ranked as high as No. 5 in the preseason. Georgia is one of only two schools to earn a national top eight seed in each of the past two NCAA Championships. They were a No. 8 national seed in 2018 and a No. 4 national seed in 2019. Last year, Georgia went 46-17 and set a school record with a .980 Fielding Percentage, and its 3.24 Earned Run Average was the second best in school history.

A total of 83,986 fans packed Foley Field last season, which was the most since 2009. That year, a record total of 93,360 fans cheered on the Bulldogs, who were ranked No. 1 five different weeks of the season.

The 2020 season, under the direction of Ike Cousins head coach Scott Stricklin, begins Feb. 14 at Foley Field.

"Our fans have done a tremendous job supporting the program, and it's exciting to hear that we've sold out our season tickets," said Stricklin. "Foley Field is a great place to play with the fans right on top of the action. I know our players enjoy the energy the crowd provides. It's a fun environment, and we're looking forward to playing in front of sold out crowds again this year."
